YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme 2023
The YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme is a free mass eye check-up scheme. The scheme is implemented by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The implementation of the scheme will provide many incentives to all the beneficiaries of the scheme. One of the main benefits which will be provided to all of the beneficiaries will be the availability of free eye check-ups. The scheme was launched on 10th October 2019 in Anantapur District on the occasion of “World Sight Day”.

The benefits under YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme are the following:

Implementation Of The Scheme
The scheme will be implemented in six phases. All the six phases will be as follows in the table:

Process For Preliminary Screening Under The Scheme
- Almost 62459 schools with 7041988 children will be screened and identified for defective vision.
- The screening will be carried out by a preliminary screening team consisting of Public Health staff and one Asha worker.
- And in the urban areas, the preliminary team will consist of 1 PHS and 1 Urban Asha.
- RBSK staff and vehicles will be utilized for urban areas.
- The team will screen every day around 200 – 250 students.
- The team will be trained and facilitated with the screening materials and a data sheet for the results.
- After completion of screening data will be handed to the ANMs.
- And ANM will upload it to PHC.
Process OF Uploading of Data In Kanti Velugu

Screening Process under Kanti Velugu Scheme
The screening will be done by 500 teams that have been appointed by the authorities of the Andhra Pradesh government. The screening will be done by 31st July 2020. The beneficiaries under the scheme are:
- In the first phase, 66,15,467 children were evaluated.
- 4,36,979 children identified with eye problems.
- In the second phase, 1,34,252 children were found with vision defects.
- 56,767 spectacles were distributed
- 77,485 other cases are under evaluation.
