About PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2023
The Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi has initiated the “PM Fasal Bima Yojana”. This yojana has been launched on 18th Feb 2016 for the farmers of the nation. The main motive of this scheme is to provide crop insurance benefits to the farmer. Under this, farmers can claim their insurance at times of adversity, such as natural calamities, pest attacks, or crop diseases. The scheme is regulated under the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers’ Welfare of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India.
And the motto of the scheme is “One Nation, One Scheme”, hence all other crop insurance schemes have been declined. However, this scheme will compensate for the crop loss of small and marginal farmers of the country. Moreover, this scheme is a combined effort of both the Central and State governments of India. Also, it accommodates the lowest and most affordable uniform insurance premium for the farmers of the country. PMFBY 2023-23 Last Date
The PMFBY is registered twice a year, in July and December, for Kharif and Rabi crops, respectively. So the last date for Kharif crops is July 31st and for Rabi crops, the last date is December 31st. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana offered up to Rs. 2 lakh compensation for the agricultural loss. Farmers would be required to pay a consistent premium of just 2% for all Kharif crops and 1.5 percent for all Rabi crops. The compensation to be paid for annual commercial and horticultural crops will be just 5%.
