GeM Portal Login, Registration, and Features – The GeM portal or e-Marketplace is a program by the government of India. The government wanted to reform the public procurement process. This gave birth to the GeM. The program is to make public procurement online. Give a transparent and Fair marketplace to the public. This will help the government to reach its goal of e-governance via the use of Technology. The portal is made to revolutionize the services and goods procurement process. Two Secretariat groups submitted suggestions to the Indian Prime Minister in 2016 regarding the creation of a Government e-Marketplace. Soon after, the Finance Minister of India proposed a digital platform for the purchase of various items by Government agencies and Ministries in the Finance Budget for the Financial Year 2016–2017.
On the GeM portal, each service category includes pre-defined parameters, a basic Service Level Agreement (SLA), and Spacial Terms and Conditions. And this comes with the option to tailor them to the buyer’s individual needs. Right now the platform provides as many as 200 services categories. The GeM portal has received well over Rs. 31,800 crore worth of orders.

How to Login into the GeM Portal?
To login into the GeM portal follow the steps below:
- First, you need to visit the official portal www.gem.gov.in.
- After that click on the GeM Login icon.
- Next, enter your GeM User ID and enter/solver the captcha code.
- After that click on the Submit Button and enter your PIN.
- Finally, your dashboard will load and display your listed items.
Note – If you want to login into the GeM portal, you first need to register yourself as a Seller OR as a Buyer on the portal.
Seller Registration on GeM Portal
To register as a seller on the GeM portal follow the steps below:
- First, you need to visit the official Website www.gem.gov.in.
- On the home page on the right-hand side click on the Sign Up button and select the Seller option.
- On the next page click on the Review Terms and Conditions button, and read all the terms and conditions.
- Next click on the I have read and agree on the Terms and Conditions of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) checkbox and click on proceed button.
- Next, the seller will get an account registration form, Fill up the form with correct information and click on the Create Account button.
- The vendor must confirm the email address by opening the GeM verification email and pressing Verify Email button.
- After that go to the GeM portal, and click on the Login option.
- Enter your username and password to log in.
- The vendor also needs to have a bank account and link it with the GeM account, deposit the caution money and then offer Goods and Services.
Buyer Registration on GeM Portal
To register as a buyer on GeM total follow the Steps below:
- First, you need to visit the official Website www.gem.gov.in.
- On the home page on the right-hand side click on the Sign Up button and select the Buyer option.
- On the next page click on the Review Terms and Conditions button, and read all the terms and conditions.
- Next click on the I have read and agree on the Terms and Conditions of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) checkbox and click on proceed button.
- Now the user needs to enter their Aadhar Number, Mobile Number linked with Aadhar, and click on Verify Aadhar button.
- Next, the buyer will get an account registration form, Fill up the form with correct information such as user name, password, official email ID, and mobile number and click on the Create Account button.
- The buyer must confirm the email address by opening the GeM verification email and pressing Verify Email button.
- After that go to the GeM portal, and click on the Login option.
- Enter your username and password to log in.
- Primary users also need to create secondary users by clicking on the Under button and clicking on the Add User option.
- Fill out the secondary user’s data and hit the Add button.
