Free Coaching for SC, ST, and OBC Students – The Government of India is always working for the empowerment of the Weaker sections of society. A number of planes have been implemented for weaker sections. So that the skills and capabilities of the people can be used for economical progress. During the 6th five-year plan government introduced a free coaching scheme for SCs. A similar scheme was introduced for OBCs and minorities. Later the scheme was merged together namely, ‘Coaching and Allied Assistance for Weaker Sections. Later after having a separate minority department the scheme was left only for SC, and OBC students. The last revision to the scheme came into effect in 2016.

The free coaching scheme for SC and OBC for the year 2023 has started. The registration for the scheme is started. You can apply for the scheme on the official website of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. This scheme will help in giving quality education to the students. The students who are bright but poor can not get expansive education. They will be able to get the benefits of this scheme. This year in 2023 there will be a total number of 3,500 sheets available. The distribution of the sheets is as follows:

SC, OBC free Coaching Eligibility, Benefits
Allowance under SC, OBC Free Coaching
The government will provide allowance to maintain the financial needs of the students qualified under SC, OBC Free Coaching Scheme. The allowance will be as follows:
- For a local student, the monthly allowance will be Rs. 3,000.
- For the student coming from outside the amount will be Rs. 6,000 a month.
- The physically disabled students with disability more than 40% will be given a Rs. 2000 as spacial allowance.
Eligibility Criteria for SC, OBC Coaching
- Only SC and OBC caste students are applicable to apply.
- The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000.
- Students shall not have less than 50% in class 10th.
- Only students studying or passing class 12th are eligible for coaching where the minimum requirement is class 12th.
- For the exams where the minimum qualification is a Degree, the students should be having a degree or study in the final year/semester.
- Students can participate in any entrance exam but the individual can not have the benefit of free coaching more than twice.
- The candidate shall be precluded from availing benefits under any other coaching scheme of the Centre or State.
- If the candidate does not show up for 15 days straight he/she will be banned.

- Exams of Group A, and B were conducted by UPSC, SSC, and Various railways RRBs Examinations.
- Group A, and B exams were conducted by State Public Service Commissions.
- Officer grade exam by Banks, Insurance Companies, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
- Premier Entrance Examination such as IIT-JEE & AIEEE, Medical like AIPMT, Professional courses like Management (eg. CAT) and Law (eg. CLAT) and any other such disciplines decided by the Ministry.
- And also Eligibility tests like SAT, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL.
