After a lot of delays the Asian Cricket Council has recently announced the upcoming schedule of Asia Cup 2022. The previous edition of Asia Cup was organised in ODI format in the year 2018. The Asia Cup 2023 Schedule

The Council has announced the schedule for the Asia Cup 2022 recently. Thus all teams will face each other in the T20 Format. The ACC has fixated the venues for this tournament. Asia cup is one of the most important events for Cricket teams in Asian Nations.
Firstly this match was played in the year 1984. The previous edition was organised in ODI format at UAE( United Arab Emirates). India was the winner of the previous Asia Cup. As it shows itself as the most successful team of the cup, that did not lose a single match. Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian Batsman was awarded as the Man of the Series for Asia Cup 2018. After a lot of delays, finally this tournament will be organised at Sri Lanka in August 2022.

Schedule of Asia Cup 2022 –
The ACC has not yet released the official schedule for the Asia Cup. It is totally sure that they will organise the Asia Cup in 2022 prior to T20 World Cup that the International Cricket Council conducts. Recently the Council has declared that they will conduct the Qualifiers matches on 20th August 2022. The cup will be played further after the inclusion of winning cricket team. The tentative schedule of Asia Cup is easily obtainable. It is expected that they will conduct the matches in August and September. In short, the tournament will start in the middle of August 2022 and last till September 2022. The cup will be organised in such a manner that the boards get enough time before their on-ground participation in T20 World Cup.

But, due to some political conflicts between India and Pakistan, India put a condition to withdraw from participating. The ACC determined to stick to its declaration of letting Pakistan host this cup. India then refrained from reacting positively on this decision of ACC. It was the year 2008 in which Pakistan lastly organised an Asia Cup. After that in 2009, several attacks on Sri Lanka Team in Pakistan led to the force the Council to consider it’s decision to change the venue. Pakistan itself proposed an offer to change Venue agreeing to search a neutral Venue. Therefore ACC decided to make Sri Lanka a host country for Asia Cup.
The Qualification Means for Asia Cup 2022-
There is a total of 6 teams that will play in Asia Cup in 2022. Out of these teams, five are chosen by the means of their team’s satisfaction with the rules of Council for the cup. The council has clearly mentioned that the five teams will be Prominent Members of International Cricket Council. They will surely play in this tournament.
The other Cricket team that will be included to this list will be the champion of the Qualifiers for Asia Cup 2022. Sri Lanka will host the Qualifier matches from 20 August 2022. The Eastern Cricket Teams that will fight for their qualification are as- Singapore and Hong Kong. On the other hand the other two teams that will fight from the Western Teams are Kuwait and UAE. Whichever team wins the qualifier will be the 6th team to play in this fully-fledged Asia Cup.
